Rewild: Community Garden/Frank Knight Forest
In May, volunteers created a native, pollinator-friendly garden space at the entrance to Frank Knight Forest in the Community Garden space. The space was cleared of invasive bittersweet and replanted with native shrubs and flowers, such as Summersweet, Dogwood, and Beebalm, which will naturalize in the space. The rocks were cleared to be a more inviting space for kids to play and explore the new plants as they grow!
If you're at the Community Garden, also check out the area to the right as you drive in. You'll notice that Parks and Lands crews have cleared the area of invasive trees and vines and planted native trees and shrubs in their place.
